ANGELIKA PLATEN
Künstlerportraits
Angelika Platen has been taking portraits of artists for half a century, including “iconic” photos of Hanne Darboven, Sigmar Polke, Gerhard Richter, James Rosenquist, Günter Uecker and Andy Warhol. While the early photos were all analogue and black and white, it was not until the 2000s that she switched to digital and colour. This comprehensive monograph documents Angelika Platen's large, multi-layered oeuvre from her beginnings in the 1960s to her work today. Her photographs convey a panorama of the constantly changing art scene. Very personal texts report on her exciting life in the international art world.
With contributions by Hubertus von Amelunxen, Ludger Derenthal, Asta Gröting, Simon Häuser, Joachim Jäger, Oliver Koerner von Gustorf, Michael Müller, Angelika Platen, Wiebke Ratzeburg, Anne Rodler, Peter Klaus Schuster.
