On Tuesday, 7. September, the opening of my single show
PARADOX ALG(I)ER(S)A typographic exploration
in collaboration with AtypI 2010 took place at The Factory Space in Dublin, Ireland.

Photos by Yvonne Schwemer-Scheddin

It also was the inofficial opening of the conference.

My gratitude goes to Conor Clarke, who hosted the exhibition in his beautiful artspace. Also to the organizers of the AtypI 2010 Clare Bell and Mary Ann Bolger, and Barbara Ebert and Rolf Stehle (director) from the Goethe Institut Irland.

Photos by Florian Hardwig

To give more information about Algeria, I designed fourteen A0 size posters about its history and political background. The texts are taken from the reception speech on the Berlin exhibition by Dr. Alix Landgrebe, the director of the Goethe Institut Algerien.

Two reviews of the exhibition and the conference:

To support the force of these texts (thanks so much to Dr. Alix Landgrebe), I worked in a collage technique, using my own typefaces and the photographs I had taken on my visits. I printed the posters in black and white, to stay in contrast to the colourful screen prints.
